Principal-Led Physical Security Advisory
Independent Security Leadership Built on Rigorous Standards
C3RS was founded to provide enterprise leaders with unfiltered, product-neutral security counsel. Led by Christian Colburn, PSP, we help organizations identify vulnerabilities, design defensible security programs, and verify operational resilience.
At C3RS, the principal who leads your initial consultation is the same accredited professional who conducts your on-site walkthrough and authors your assessment. No junior handoffs.
Serving the Charlotte region and deploying for facility assessments nationwide.

Why clients choose C3RS
The principal does the work.
- 01
Principal-led execution
Large firms often sell with a partner and send a junior analyst to walk the site. At C3RS the principal scopes the work, walks your facility, writes the findings and briefs your leadership.
- 02
Practitioner insight
More than 20 years designing and supporting real security systems — video, access control, SOC/GSOC and radio — means recommendations that work in an operating facility, not just on paper.
- 03
Independent by design
We do not sell hardware, represent integrators or provide guard force labor. The only thing we deliver is advice you can defend.

Christian Colburn, PSP
Principal
Christian Colburn is a board-certified Physical Security Professional (PSP) and the Principal of C3 Risk & Security Consulting. A colleague once called him “the last of the analogs”: he came up through the industry’s analog days and has since designed some of the most advanced security platforms in use today.
Over more than 25 years, Christian has worked across every side of the security business. In 2019 he joined Avigilon, a Motorola Solutions company, as Director of Government Video Sales for the Southeast, and from 2022 through 2026 he was Business Development Manager for the Architects and Engineering community, where he supported design, specifications and training across Motorola’s video, access control, radio and public safety lines. Before that he held design and business development roles at Pelco, Schneider Electric, Siemens Building Technologies and Honeywell Security. He is a two-time winner of the Motorola Solutions CEO Circle award.
His expertise spans video surveillance and analytics, access control, security operations center and GSOC design, single-pane-of-glass interfaces, cloud implementations and migrations, and site and regional radio design. He believes security and communications should be designed together, and he brings that approach to every C3 engagement.
Christian studied at West Chester University of Pennsylvania and lives in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Outside of work, he is a husband and father and a devoted NASCAR, MLB and NFL fan.
The founder’s stance
Why C3RS is vendor-independent
Christian spent more than 25 years on the manufacturer side of the security industry — at Motorola Solutions, Avigilon, Pelco, Schneider Electric, Siemens and Honeywell — designing systems and supporting the architects and engineers who specify them.
That vantage point showed him how often a recommendation is shaped by what the adviser has to sell. C3RS was founded to sit on the other side of the table: deep product knowledge, with no stake in which product you buy.
We do not sell, install or monitor equipment, and we do not provide guard labor. Our recommendations follow your risk, and our specifications are written to be competitively bid.
